E-Mail Configuration
 

Microsoft Outlook 2002 - Entry Overview

Field Corresponding Entry
Email/Reply to address: sample@mydomain.com (or .net, .org, etc.)
(sample = the specific address at your domain name)
Incoming (POP3) mail server: pop.mydomain.com (or .net, .org, etc.)
(If you would like to access your mail via an IMAP client, you will need to use imap.mydomain as the IMAP server)
User/Account name: sample@mydomain.com (or .net, .org, etc.)
(If you are using a mail client, such as Netscape, that does not allow you to use the "@" symbol in the User/Account name field, you may substitute the "@" in your address with the "_" character. For example: username_mydomain)
Password: password
(password = the password you chose for that email address)
Outgoing (SMTP) mail server: smtp.mydomain.com (or .net, .org, etc.)
(no username or password are required for outgoing mail)

Step by Step Setup Instructions

To set up a newe-mail account :
  1. Open Outlook 2002
  2. Click on Tools in the toolbar
  3. Click on Email Accounts
  4. Select Add a new email account then click Next
  5. Select POP 3 in the Server Type window, then click Next
  6. Enter name and email address under User Information
  7. Enter Incoming Mail Server(pop.mydomain.com) under Server Information
    (replace mydomain.com with your unique domain name)
  8. Enter Outgoing Mail Server (smtp.mydomain.com) under Server Information
    (replace mydomain.com with your unique domain name)
  9. Enter user name and password under Logon Information (in lower case)
  10. Click Next, then Finish
