Step by Step Setup Instructions
|
To setup a new e-mail account:
- Open Netscape Messenger 7, then
click on Edit and
go to Preferences
- If there is a small + sign next
to Mail & Newsgroups,
click it to expand the section
- Click Identity
under Mail &
Newsgroups
- Enter your name and e-mail address
in the appropriate fields: sample@mydomain.com
(sample = the specific address at your domain
name)
- Click on Mail
Servers
- In the Incoming
Mail Servers box on the right side, click
the Add button
- In the Mail
Server Properties dialog box, click on
the General tab
- The Server
Name is pop.mydomain.com
(replace mydomain.com with your unique domain
name)
- The Server
Type is POP3
- Input your username
- Verify the Remember
Password is selected
- Click on the
POP tab and verify the the Leave
Messages on the Server tab is unchecked,
then click OK
- You should now be back on the
Mail Servers page
- In the Outgoing
Mail Server field, enter: smtp.mydomain.com
(replace mydomain.com with your unique domain
name)
- In the Outgoing
Mail Server Username field, enter your
username
- Click OK
to close the Preferences dialog box
- Click Get
Msg and enter your password, then OK
- You are now ready to send and
receive e-mail
